1. Warm up the engine. 2. Set the idle speed to 850 rpm and move the duty cycle adjustment to the middle. 3. Unplug the idle valve. 4. Adjust the bypass screw until the engine runs at 450 rpm. If you can not reduce the idle to 450 rpm, then you have an air leak.
The idle mixture adjustment on a Marvel-Schebler carburetor is in the form of a large knurled screw (or small slotted knob) on the throttle casting, high on the carb. On MA-3 and MA-4 series carbs, for example, find the bowl drain plug, then run your finger (or eyes) straight up the side of the carb until you come to a slotted knob with arrows
Aug 8, 2012. #4. With the A/C comes a circuit that rev's up the rpm's at idle, because the compressor is a "load" to the engine. The A/C is resposible for the rpm drop. What you did with turning up the idle is "a" solution but I would use the hand throttle. Pretty useless to run 1000 rpm when you don't need it.
This regulator sits atop the motor and uses engine heat to adjust the fuel plunger inside the fuel distributor and changes the fuel mixture. A faulty regulator will disrupt the correct fuel mixture to the engine. The unit can be tested by measuring fuel pressure as the engine warms up. Figure 7. Warm up regulator. Step 6 – Inspect the idle
In this video I have a look at a Hyundai Elantra that came in with a "idle problem." The engine light was on with several codes pertaining to the Idle Air Co
The AC idle-up feature was a little perk specific to the FJ60. It really isn’t necessary. Just set the engine idle RPM to 800 RPM and forget about it. The AC won’t stall the engine and will run fine at 700 RPM. If you want to boost it a bit when waiting at a stop light, pull out the choke cable a bit to bump up the RPMS.
Idle Speed Adaptation (see your Repair Manual): With engine warmed up, at idle: [Select] [01 engine] [Adaptation - 10] Enter channel 01. Enter an adaptation value between 124 and 132. [Save] . When I tried it, I got a security access required in the fields (no rpm, etc.).
